Dr. Abiola A. Fasina-Ayoola is an emergency and critical care physician, health systems leader, educator, and clinician-scientist with a track record of building high-performing services in complex, resource-constrained environments. As Medical Director and Head of Emergency and Critical Care at the 250-bed R Jolad Hospital System in Lagos, she has led clinical operations, quality improvement, patient safety, and service-line growth while helping drive gains in revenue, patient experience, and SafeCare performance.
She is also the Founder and CEO of Emergency Healthcare Consultants, a social enterprise that has trained more than 600 clinicians in emergency, critical care, life support, and point-of-care ultrasound across West Africa. Nationally, she chairs the Faculty of Emergency Medicine at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, where she helps shape postgraduate training, examinations, accreditation, and workforce development. Internationally, she serves on the Executive Board of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Her career combines frontline clinical credibility, board-level governance, operational discipline, implementation research, and strategic partnership building. She is particularly recognized for advancing emergency medicine, sepsis systems improvement, ultrasound education, and equitable critical care delivery in Africa.
