As a National Project Officer in the Digital Inclusion and ICT Policy & Regulatory Analysis landscape, Kagwiria’s passion lies in using technology to drive societal progress. She has led national digital transformation initiatives and designed and guided in-depth technical assessments to completion, thus providing inputs to governmental policy and nurtured an empowering ICT regulatory landscape.
As a Sustainable Connectivity Advocate and Architect, she supported research and development of innovative models for school connectivity, showcasing commitment to pioneering digital inclusion solutions. This work highlights her dedication to closing the digital divide and ensuring equitable technology access for all.
In supporting Digital Inclusion Dialogues, Kagwiria brings together stakeholders to deepen their collective understanding and action on connectivity and inclusion. Her contributions to national ICT assessments are pivotal, including supporting the evaluation of Universal Service Fund (USF) projects in Kenya to identify areas for refinement in design and execution, a pivotal step for the strategic enhancement of the USF, reinforcing its role in bridging digital divides and fostering improved connectivity. Her involvement in designing and coordinating national digital skills assessment for Kenya is critical for aligning digital skill development with current and future market needs, thereby strengthening the resilience of our digital economy.
Kagwiria’s role in developing a national cybersecurity curriculum underscores her commitment to broadening cybersecurity understanding across society. Supporting ICTA, British Council, and UKAID joint initiative, she played a key role in designing essential ICT curricula: Foundation, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Digital Skills, and Public Sector Workforce Digital Skills. She contributed to the Public Sector Workforce Digital Skills and cybersecurity curriculum, integrated across all curricula, emphasizing cybersecurity’s role as a key enabler. This integration serves to underscore the critical significance of cybersecurity in enabling Kenyan citizens to flourish and make valuable contributions to the Digital Economy, while ensuring a secure digital environment for everyone.
