Uche Cynthia Nwuka holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin and also holds a Master’s in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She has garnered over 28 years of experience in the finance industry across various divisions and functions in Merchant Banks, Commercial Banks, and Development Finance Institutions.
Uche Nwuka has pioneered the Creative Industry Department at the Bank of Industry, Nigeria, and remains the group head of this division. She has supervised the development and successful implementation of the Bank’s first non-asset-based collateral arrangement for a major Cinema project and other projects within the Creative Industry. The division now successfully supports 11 sub-sectors within the creative industry and, under her supervision, has received numerous awards both locally and internationally, and as such, has become the reference point for foreign direct investment in the creative industry.
Prior to her role in the Creative Industry Division, she held a supervisory role in Risk Management, overseeing 5 key departments: Credit Control, Credit Administration, Monitoring, Remedial, and Recovery. Uche Nwuka was also the treasurer for the Bank of Industry for four years before taking up the task for Gender Business and Multilateral Relationship, where the African Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA) office was under her supervision. Uche Nwuka previously worked in Manny Bank Plc (merged with Fidelity Bank Plc) in the Private Banking and Treasury Department. As the Head of Treasury Services Department, she was instrumental in generating funds from High Net-worth individuals and conglomerates, which enabled the bank to meet its high liquidity demands required of a commercial bank.
Uche Nwuka’s experience and expertise in Development Finance, Corporate Finance, and Wealth Management in Nigeria are highly valued and respected as she serves as an invaluable member on various boards and associations.
