Sonume Nnanna is an investment and legal professional with over a decade of cross-sector experience spanning infrastructure, energy, and structured finance across Africa, the United States, and global markets. She brings a unique blend of legal expertise and investment acumen, developed over more than 13 years of advising on and managing complex, capital-intensive transactions.
She currently serves as an Investment Professional at Africa Finance Corporation, a leading multilateral development finance institution focused on addressing Africa’s infrastructure gap through strategic investments across power, transport, natural resources, telecommunications, and heavy industries.
In her role, she has led the management of a $1.5 billion portfolio of power assets, including renewable energy projects and large-scale generation infrastructure spanning 12 African countries. Her work is centered on optimizing portfolio performance, driving strategic exits, and enhancing asset value through disciplined, risk-conscious investment decision-making.
Trained as a lawyer, Nnanna holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas and is licensed to practice in both Texas and Nigeria.
