Idayat Uthman is currently the State Director for a U.S. Department of State-funded Implementing Partner in Nigeria (ECEWS). In this role, she oversees the design and implementation of the ACE Project’s public health interventions in Lagos State, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and cervical cancer screening.
Previously, she served as a Program Officer at the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). She is a Public Health Physician with over two decades of experience leading large-scale health programmes across complex systems. Her career began in clinical medicine, but a commitment to solving problems at the population and systems level led her into HIV response, health systems strengthening, policy, and large-scale programme management.
Idayat is recognised for innovative strategies and strong service delivery, translating global commitments into practical, life-saving outcomes for communities.
