H.E. Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa is the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, overseeing administration and finance while driving institutional reform and key AU programs, including Agenda 2063 and women’s economic empowerment initiatives. With over 20 years of experience, she has held senior government roles in Rwanda, including Minister of Trade and Industry and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
A champion for financial inclusion, she is actively involved in gender-focused initiatives and co-founded the Friend Indeed Organisation to support vulnerable women and children. She is the first woman to hold the AU Deputy Chairperson position.
