Dr. Alice Ajeh, fnipr is a business leader who has worn the Public Relations Advisory cap for Shell Companies in Nigeria and The Netherlands, where she has built one of the most distinguished careers in corporate and public affairs in the African energy sector. As Communications Manager, she led corporate and crisis communications across Shell’s Nigerian operations and oversees reputation management for the organisation’s companies in Nigeria. She has also served as International Relations Manager at Shell’s global headquarters in The Netherlands, representing Shell Nigeria’s operations to governments, regulators, and civil society across Europe and the Americas engaging stakeholders in Norway, Brussels, Germany, French Guiana, and Alaska on some of the most contested issues in the global energy industry.
Across these roles, she has directed reputation management at the highest levels, navigated the company through crisis communications, and deployed her mediation and negotiation skills in staff union disputes and complex multi-stakeholder engagements. Her work sits at the intersection
of geopolitics, corporate diplomacy, and community relations central to Shell’s ability to operate credibly and sustainably in one of Africa’s most demanding environments.
Prior to Shell, Dr. Ajeh built her professional foundations across academia, publishing, and public sector communications serving as a researcher and lecturer, a book editor in a newspaper and publishing house, and a Public Relations Specialist for a government development agency. Each role deepened a distinct set of competencies she has since applied at the highest levels of the global energy industry.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, she was the first and only woman to chair the NIPR Rivers State Chapter one of the institute’s most active chapters. She currently serves as 2nd Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Reputation Management Group (NRMG), where she has helped convene the inaugural National Reputation Day (2025) and the first National Reputation Summit (2026), directing national-level advocacy on Nigeria’s global standing.
She holds a PhD in Foundations of Education (Sociology) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum and Environmental Law. Her areas of expertise include corporate communications, crisis management, government and community relations, non-technical risk management, negotiation, and compliance administration.
Dr. Ajeh is also an advocate for women in professional leadership, having championed the NIPR’s first-ever International Women’s Day celebration.
