Redefining Leadership for African Women

We exist to rewrite the story of female leadership in Africa and the world. Through intentional development, strategic connections, and unwavering support, we empower ambitious women to claim their rightful place in C-suite and board-level roles.

Ascent Club is more than a platform –
We Identify, we prepare, and we connect.

Ascent Club is on a mission to rewrite the narrative of female leadership across Africa and the world. Through intentional development, strategic connections, and unwavering support, we empower ambitious women to rise to C-suite and board-level roles.

Africa faces a critical challenge in building a strong pipeline of female leaders. According to PwC’s Power of Parity report, nearly half of women entering the workforce drop off before reaching senior leadership roles. Since 2015, women’s representation in middle-management roles across Africa has declined annually, threatening the advancement of female talent to top leadership positions.

At Ascent Club, we are committed to reversing this trend. Our exclusive platform equips African women with the tools, strategies, and networks they need to thrive in executive roles. Unlike conventional programs, we address key barriers such as sponsorship gaps, limited high-impact networks, and visibility.

We go beyond traditional training by offering personalized pathways for Pre-Board and Pre-C-Suite candidates, connecting them to career-defining opportunities.

The Numbers Speak For Themselves

With only 5% of women in Africa’s private sector reaching the highest leadership levels, Ascent Club is shaping a future where women lead, inspire, and drive change at the very top—unlocking the full potential of female leadership across the continent.

In Africa, women hold less than 5% of CEO positions and make up 29% of board seats, a figure that lags behind global averages.

Studies show that companies with more women in leadership tend to outperform their peers by 35%, underscoring the critical role that gender diversity plays in organizational success.

African women face unique barriers to leadership, with less than 15% of senior management roles held by women in industries like finance and technology, despite the continent’s rapid growth.

At Ascent Club, we believe in changing the narrative. By addressing the specific barriers that African women face in leadership—like the lack of sponsorship and networks—we offer women the tools and strategies to step into their power and make a lasting global impact.
