Ngoanathari Maja is an Energy and Climate Specialist. She has extensive experience in the implementation of energy efficiency projects within industrial and commercial sectors. Her areas of expertise include energy and water efficiency, resource efficiency, renewable energy, ISO 50001 energy management systems, decarbonisation, carbon foot-printing, life cycle management, climate change, and circular economy.
Ngoanathari is a chemical engineer with extensive process and production engineering experience within the manufacturing sector. She has a Masters degree in engineering management, BTech in Chemical Engineering and, BTech in Project Management. She is a UNIDO certified expert in ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS) implementation and Resource Efficient Cleaner Production (RECP). She also facilitates training in these fields. Ngoanathari is also a RENAC certified expert in Energy and Power Systems Transformation and has expert certifications in sustainable finance and, climate & renewable energy finance.
Ngoanathari is currently the program lead for the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings and Infrastructure Program (EEPBIP). The program aims to catalyse large-scale energy efficiency implementation and investments within the South African public sector.
