Areje is the Asset Manager and Business Opportunity Manager for Deep Water Non-Operated Ventures at SNEPCO, with over 24 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She has led major projects, including the Bonga North and Bonga Main Life Extension, securing nine Final Investment Decisions and regulatory approvals. Under her leadership, the Bonga Main Life Extension increased its operational life from 10 to 15 years, enhancing SNEPCO’s earnings.

A former Reservoir Engineer, she holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin. Beyond her technical expertise, Areje is a passionate advocate for mentorship, having led Women in Shell (WiS) and hosted programs empowering women and children.
