Dr. Agnes Kalibata is a global leader in agricultural transformation and food security. As President of AGRA since 2014, she has driven initiatives that improve the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers across Africa. Previously, as Rwanda’s Minister of Agriculture (2008–2014), she led reforms that made Rwanda a model for agricultural growth.
She served as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the 2021 Food Systems Summit and sits on multiple global boards addressing climate adaptation and food security. Her contributions have earned her prestigious awards, including the Africa Food Prize and the Public Welfare Medal from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
